Transportation and Infrastructure

Councilmember de León has a long history of supporting sustainable transportation and infrastructure projects. In 2015, while serving as California State Senate Pro Temp, he authored SB767 which authorized Metro to put Measure M before voters in the November 2016 election.

Council District 14 is surrounded by nine freeways, the most freeways of any Council District in the city. These freeways have created poor air quality and traffic gridlock from Eagle Rock to Downtown. Councilmember de León is committed to building a more sustainable transportation system in Los Angeles, so that zero emission vehicles and public transportation are the means by which people get around. Councilmember de León is committed to achieving that future by promoting policies and projects that make it easier for Angelenos to move about the region.
